parallel and contrapuntal sound video

The first half is a contrapuntal sound- the heavy music contrast with kissing scenes, and in the other half there's a parallel sound- a action scene with some energetic music.
There is no diegetic sound, the clips from the first part are from different rom-coms, but the other half is from the movie Avengers.

3)
WWW:
-good lighting
-good close up at the beginnig and at the end
-the transformations were synchronized with the music
-good background music

EBI:
-use more editing
-the fading music
-explain what is used while doing the makeup

4)
It helped us a lot to work faster when we had a clear plan of what we wanted to do.
5)
I would use more text to explain in more detail how the makeup was done. I would also find a better quality of camera and a better background. I could also explain the process by adding a voice over.

6)
Mise-en-scene is a very big aspect when it comes to any media. You need to be very precized because every detail will be seen and recievied by and audience.

Film noir research

Noir film
Film noir is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish Hollywood crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize cynical attitudes and sexual motivations. Hollywood's classical film noir period is generally regarded as extending from the early 1940s to the late 1950s.
To light in a film noir style, there are three basic things to remember:
~To get hard crisp shadows,
~Use a small intense light. (Fresnels, lekos, reflector spots)
~Emphasize the difference between high and low-key lighting (lots of fill, high-key lighting)

The lighting is one of the main features in this movie clip. There's a key light throughout the whole clip, but there's no filler lights. The camera angles are also pretty unique for noir films.
There's a big contrast of black and white, and a lot of shadows.

Lighting blog tasks

1. This is a low key light- the background is black, there'e only a key light. It's a top light, the actress is looking up in its direction.
That kind of lighting is meant to be very dramatic, show a lot of emotions.

2.This is a high key lighting- the background is as bright as the foreground, altho there's a lack of fill light, so the shadows on his face are visible. It's a top lighting- we can see the shadows created on his eyes.
That lighting shows us the serious and determined expression of an actor, the shadows increase his facial expression.

3.It's a low key lighting- a lot of shadows, really dark set. It's a top lighting, but it's only a key light and it's not really bright.
It's really dramatic, with the camera angle and the rain being hit by the light.

4.It's a high key lighting- the actress is very visible, the background is white and it reflects the light making the scene even brighter. The key light comes from the side, so I think it's  under lighting- we can see the shadows on the wall and her facial expression is very visible and highlighted.
It makes the scene more dramatic and intense. Also there's a shadow that falls on the actress, that might suggest that someone is attacking her.

5.It's a low key lighting, there's a light coming from behing the blinds. it's kind of a back and under lighting.
It makes the scene seem more personal and pasionet.

6. It's a low key lighting- there might me a lot of light in that scene, but the characters are not really visible. It's a back lighting because all we see are the shapes of bodies on a white background.
It shows that the characters are bad, we can see the shapes of objects that they're holding. It makes them seem more terrifing and powerfull.

7. It's a low key lighting- the contrast between black and white is very visible. The under lighting from the side makes the actress blend into the backgroung on the left side.
The scene was ment to be full of emotion, very dramatic and intence, the face expretion is highlighted.

8.It's a high key, top lighting- the actress is very visible, the background is also bright. We can we that the actress is leaning to the sun, probably preying.
It makes the scene look a lot more magical and religious.

9.It's a low key light- the 70% of the screen in practically black. The back lighting makes it impossible to recognise the actor.
It makes the scene more teriffying, we can already tell that it's some sort of horror os thriller.

10.It's high key lighting. The characters are visible, the under lighting make the facial expression of the actor even more serious, he looks worried and suspicous.

Image result for mermaid makeup

Image result for mermaid makeup pink

We were trying to recreate a mermaid look.
First, we curled the hair and let them cool down into a beach waves to make it look like naturally dried hair.
For the makeup there was a lot of changing. First, we applied foundation, concealer, brows and setting powder. Next, we started to apply green and blue shades of eyeshadow and highlighter and pink jets on the cheekbones.
After that we tried to recreate the mermaid sales, but we ended up blending it in and putting on a pink highlighter on the cheek and forehead.
At the end we put some mascara and purple lipstick.
